This past weekend I was at the ballfield with my youngest son and heard a story about one of our teammates' high school aged brother that I thought I would pass along.
Some of you might recall hearing me rant this time last year about a show on CBS called Swingtown. CBS was criticized by conservatives and liberals alike over the immoral nature of this show. To put it mildly, this show was horrible and didn't last long even though CBS stood behind it all the way.
The young man that I am so impressed with was living in California pursuing an acting career when his first "big chance" came. His agent called and said, "We have a show and taking this spot will open 'MANY' doors for your future." His godly mother and he were both eager to read the script, but their eagerness turned to sorrow as they read. When this young man read the script, he told his mom, "This isn't right, and the answer is NO!"
I am so encouraged as a 43-year old pastor to see so many young men and women who will not compromise their beliefs. Tina and I shared this story with our children when we got home as a statement to the grace and wonder of our Heavenly Father!
